The Winners returns to the rival forest towns of Beartown and Hed two years after the tragic events of the previous books. The community is trying to move on, but deep-seated tensions remain. A ferocious late-summer storm reignites the old rivalry, and a new sense of optimism (embodied by a new ice rink) clashes with a history of violence and corruption
