Billy is a young boy who just wants a “normal” family life. However, his two moms are anything but typical—they wear pirate hats, sing loud sea shanties, and keep a grumpy parrot as a pet. Billy is mortified by their eccentricities, especially when his school plans a trip to the seaside. He desperately hopes they will try to act like everyone else for just one day. But when the school boat gets stuck during a storm at sea, Billy’s moms spring into action. Using their seafaring skills, bravery, and pirate expertise, they save the day. Billy realizes that being “different” is actually his family’s greatest strength, leading him to embrace and celebrate his moms for exactly who they are.
