As early as in Greek antiquity, Egypt has exerted a fascination of its own, documented by countless graffiti left by Greek, Coptic and Roman visitors. This has not changed even until today. Something mysterious is emanating from the hieroglyphs and all those strange figures of gods and goddesses. Although the hieroglyphs have by now been deciphered and Egyptologists have made available a wealth of information, substantial parts of Egyptian culture still remain enigmatic to a large extent. Somewhat paradoxically, this is due to the every character of Ancient Egyptian religion.
