In this high-stakes adventure, Jack and Annie are summoned by a mysterious message to travel to the Land-Behind-the-Clouds, a desolate and frozen kingdom. Upon arrival, they discover that their mentors, Merlin the magician and Morgan le Fay, have been kidnapped by a powerful Ice Wizard who has also stolen Merlin’s Staff of Strength. The siblings are joined by their friends Teddy and Kathleen on a race against time.To free their friends and retrieve the staff, the Ice Wizard demands that Jack and Annie find his missing eye, which was traded to a terrifying Frost Giant. Guided by a riddle and a visit to the House of Norns, the children must navigate a landscape filled with white wolves and extreme cold. They are warned never to look directly into the Frost Giant’s eyes, or they will be frozen instantly. The story explores themes of sacrifice, true vision, and empathy, ultimately leading to a message of redemption as the children use their wits to complete the mission before sunrise.
